This site commemorates a horrible failure of the South Fork Dam, which burst after several days of heavy rainfall. The flood killed over 2200 people.

The museum is located up on a hill, overlooking the location of the historic location of the lake that had formed due to the South Fork Dam. The heavy rain on the day I visited made it so that I couldn't walk around the outside trails. Inside the building there is a museum, a gift shop, and a 35 minute movie that goes through the construction and failure of the dam.

More information on this horrible event can be found at the NPS Website for the Johnstown Flood
